Job title : 18-months postdoctoral position open on 01/11/2021 – In vivo MRI for therapeutic applications of metal chelation

The experimental work will be carried out on a biomedical imaging platform (IBIO) including two small animal Bruker MR I systems (4.7 T and 7 T) a high-resolution NMR spectrometer (500 MHz), two clinical research MRI scanners (3 T) and an in vivo optical imaging platform, located on the Life Sciences and hospital campus at 10 minutes from the city center with public transportation.
Mission : A 18-months postdoctoral position is available at the Institute of Molecular Sciences in Bordeaux. The position is open in the “Molecular MR Imaging” group, head Dr. Yannick Crémillieux, in the framework of the research program SEMB (Selective extraction of metals from the brain) supported by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR). The objectives of the SEMB project are to implement new strategies for metal chelation in the brain that will be applied in diseases associated with deregulation of metal homeostasis. The research project of the recruited fellow will focus on the use of MRI and MRS for assessing the efficacy and the impact of metal chelation on animal models of neurodegenerative diseases. The research fellow will work in a multidisciplinary environment including MRI physicists, neuroscientists and chemists.
