Job title : PhD Student Position in Preclinical Imaging (PET & MRI)- 3 years

Organization : The research will be conducted at the PARCC Research Centre in Paris.
The PARCC (Paris Cardiovascular Research Center, UMR U970) successfully united a significant group of basic and clinical scientists who share a common vision and goals in cardiovascular research. PARCC research spans from fundamental molecular and cellular biology to integrated physiology, pathophysiology, biomarkers, genetics, and epidemiology. The overarching objective is to gain a deeper, more mechanistic understanding of pathological processes in vascular, cardiac, and kidney diseases, as well as the interplay between cardiology and oncology.

PARCC teams are also actively developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Translational research is a core component of the PARCC's mission, fostered through close collaboration with clinical laboratories and departments at the Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou (HEGP).

Mission : We are seeking for a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team in the field of cardiac imaging with a focus on positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This position starting in September 2025 is funded by the “Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies” and aims at developing new imaging approaches to identify with imaging the early stages of cardiac fibrosis in a rat model of genetic cardiomyopathy paving the way for the evaluation of new treatments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in vivo cardiac imaging using micro-PET and MRI scanners including optimization of acquisition protocols and image analysis
- Perform and analyze autoradiographies, histology and immunohistochemistry
- Contribute to the design of experiments, analysis of results and writing of abstracts and manuscripts
- Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary research environment and interact with experts in imaging and biology

Locality : PARCC Research Centre in Paris

Remuneration : 2100 €/ month according to Inserm guidelines

Degrees required : Master’s degree in Biology, Pharmacy or Bioimaging

Skills required : Willingness to carry out preclinical experiments - Knowledge and previous experience with preclinical imaging is advantageous - Strong interest in cardiac imaging - Motivation and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment - Fluent in English
